Yes he divorced her, kidnapped the kids and went to Kenya without telling her. That's when she lost it. The kids are back now but it took years to find them.

How good am I to quickly get to the cause. When Somali women go mental it has a lot to do with a marriage crisis.

When a Somali men goes crazy it has a lot to do with cuqubo ( war crimes) and wealth lost.

That's true. But I've known a few Somali women who got ill because of the perilous journey of tahriib, rape, war trauma etc too.

My relative married a fellow with suspected mental health problems . It was indeed confirmed the night he took the Neighbours Hagbad money and came back with bundles of khat upon Khat .

I'd say more Somali men go crazy from drug use psychosis. I know so many men who were fine until they started doing drugs.

False, I've worked in a crisis center for women (voluntary) and many of the women first fled after experiencing rape and continuously beating trough years.

When it comes to mental stability women beat men. Men get suicidal already after a few weeks of work, women do have the luxury when they have kids and a family that depends on them.

I was crucified here when I said 1 in 3 Somali is mentally ill

1 in 3 is too many. But you aren't off base with your estimate. We do have mental illness plague in our society.

Back home causes are:
- Lack of sleep due to Qaat sessions and other Drugs coupled with
- Bad nutrition

All combined and done on a consistent basis lead to mental issues.

In the West:

- Untreated depression.
- Hardcore drug use.

Why is that? How can cadaan drink and do drugs occasionally and be sane but somali people become like full blown addicts isku kaadiyaan even when they don't do it often enough to be considered an adddict. I guess because our ancestors didn't drink so it's foreign to their bodies

This document by WHO(World Health Organization) explains the reasons behind the mental illnesses prevalent in Somalia.

https://reliefweb.int/sites/reliefw...AEF992F74A43FC125782B00484E8D-Full_Report.pdf

Similar studies were done in Minnesota state and the first Somali mental health services were started in 1998 according to that study.

The one big factor is Somalia's failure as a state and the collective distress all Somalis experienced and still experience to this day.

The outcome of a failed society due to clan culture/system.

Actually cadaan men are on par with Somalis when it comes to psychosis. The things i've noticed is that most of the cadaan people in the hospital from drug psychosis are heavy drug users. Meth and other drugs which cause them to go crazy. Whereas Somali men are using khat or weed and losing their minds. (There are some who do pills and a few cocaine addicts) But mostly harmless drugs.

I would guess that Somalis and Cadaans are more prone to mental health issues and a lot have underlying issues already that these hallucinations from drugs bring to the forefront.

I knew of a dude very irreligious, bad to his mother, excessive fornicator who suddenly after a decade of this lifestyle began hearing voices in his head, thought he was being followed etc.

He then became religious, and used his savings to build a house for himself back home, much of his mental issues have since subsided but from time to time, he becomes paranoid that people are following him around or talking about him.

His relatives made a stupid mistake to get him married when he went to Somalia and he divorced the woman within a month or so, but still went to bare him a child which he takes care off very well (financially)

I see this as a punishment for decades of excess, he is being expiated for his sins as a result, it's really a mercy to him, his dedication to the deen is second to none, recently he requested many religious books which we sent to him.

When my uncle visited him he tore his Dutch passport to pieces vowing to never go back, my uncle then asked him but what if you "become sick" and he responded with "I will do the same as the people here do when they are sick" his tawakul is second to none.

If he is related to you, you should advise him to take medication to address the biological side of the mental problem since he already took care of the spiritual side of his mental issues.

A biological defect requires a biological fix like medicine, while the spiritual brokenness of the mind can be fixed with the spiritual practice and cleanliness of the mind and heart. The two are separate.

True but when they are partyers they don't lose their minds but I the somali guys I know who are experimental party types all lose their ability to act normal when they are sober too

Petrochemical drugs don't fix anything, they treat symptoms while causing a plethora of other problems you never had, just reading the side effects alone could give you a heart attack.

They are nothing more then a racket, the issue is strictly spiritual in nature, and his improvement has already passed the 80% threshold since he changed, the best medicine is the Quran, followed by dua's, followed by applying sunnah cures (cupping, Qust Hindi, Qust Bahri, black-seed, raw honey etc. etc)

The spiritual cure is in deen and the physical cures are found in nature, not in dangerous petrochemical Rockefeller medicines.

Cure does exist and people should seek it. You won't diminish the power of the Quran by treating illnesses where cure/treatment is available. Trusting in God has a higher reward but also seeking Allah's kindness through medicine for disease is encouraged in Islam.

Religion is meant to be kindness to the individual, not a source of suffering for Allah is most merciful.
