Has ictiraafstan gotten its ictiraaf?

the last time I have been very active on this platform was 2017/18 ( before the yoganites took over here) it’s now 2022 and as I always consistently said ictiraafstanis are living in utopia and that the ictiraaf is on the way. Now it’s 5 years down the line and the with no ictiraaf in sight Infact it’s not getting getting worse lol.

My bet is some of you will get old or even die before you get even a glimpse of ictiraaf and nothing will change.

but the way this is similar to the 4.5 advocates who still believe that will bring prosperity and good governance.

waa habeenki xalay tegay for both:pachah1:

I am not a 4.5 advocate but I'm always interested in solutions people have for a country where if one portion of the population massively out populate the other and we stick to voting along qabiil lines, how this wouldn't eventually lead to what we're seeing in SL where you have deadly elections

Somalia needs a strong centralized government that has devolved governing units. A proportionate parliamentarian system with not more than 185 members.

proportionate system will limit voting in qabil lines (6-7% in Somalias case to be a parliamentary party) so that every clan does not make its own party like in the 60’s or now.

If you want a centralized gov. Get rid of 4.5 actually, get rid of qabiil itself. Until then, Federalism Foreva!

Your theory doesn't hold up in SL's case for two reasons:

1. Somaliland has held peaceful elections for nearly 20 years now. This is not my opinion, that is the unanimous view of all the international observers of every election SL has held. One mismanaged protest getting violent does not change that.
2. The protest was due to disputes between the government and the opposition - an opposition made up largely of one part of the dominant portion of the population you described. Your argument would have made sense if it was dominant group subduing protests by the minority group(s), which is not what happened here.

Have you been sleeping under a dhagax my Somali-Italia friend?
SL is a recognized state .
you may ask by whom, well for a start
how about
the Kingdom of the Yellow Mountain ..

That is factually incorrect the last elections somaliland held were more than 15 years ago so called guurti. The last presidential before muse Shaani was 7 years ago. The last parliamentary elections before the recent one is more than 10 years ago

Such levels of stupidity are hard to comprehend.

SL has had peaceful elections in 2021, 2017, 2012, 2010, 2005, 2003.

Fact = that is nearly 20 years of peaceful elections.
Fact = You do not know what "factually incorrect" means.

It will come around in a century or so, let's play for our brothers to achieve their decades long of a dreams, every one has the right to day dream and then thinking of making it true, so please let's no mock them and let's just wish them good luck instead

There comes a point when if we're still unable SL under one government alongside us after 40 or 50 years then we should stop claiming SL is part of our country. The status quo is less beneficial to Somalia than it is to them lot

With the Russian - Ukraine conflict and the creation of new independent republics such as Donesk People's Republic (DPR) and Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), the old international order is breaking down. Therefore, with the passage of time, the status quo is good for Somaliland. And unless a new UN is formed, the old UNSC where a few veto holders decide who is going to be a recognized country, that is no longer the case. Somaliland should just focus on fighting corruption, strengthening its current democratic process, fixing its current tax code, and it won't need an "ictiraaf". Time is on its side.

Folks, the former Somali Republic has ceased to exist due to major reasons: 1) Western powers such as USA and UK who prevented this country from coming back; 2) HAG elites who became a major stepping block against Somalia standing its own feet and who worked with any foreign power to prevent from any government talking hold in Somalia. Therefore, independent states such as Somaliland, Puntland, Jubbaland, and SouthWest should be strongly pursued and strengthened.

That being said, Somaliland's biggest blunder was when the current leaders stated they will accept Taiwan as an independent Republic. That is a direct challenge to the Chinese territorial integrity. With the emerging multi-polar world, the Peoples Republic of China is a major and leading player, and Somaliland leadership should've stayed clear from irking it. Hopefully, next leadership will fix it.

Except that never happened.

Somaliland has a working diplomatic and commercial relationship with Taiwan, just like most of the IC including the UK and the US has.

Taiwan has a representative office in Somaliland, just like it has in the UK and the US.

Somaliland has done nothing that just about every other country hasn't done since the 80s.

It is already in the news.

In Cirro's speech, you can see he clearly mentioned both China and Taiwan and importance of each country.

I don't know if Somaliland recognises Republic of China (claims all of China but only rules Taiwan) as a sovereign state but I know Somaliland doesn't have formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan, only unofficial relations

Speak to me about parliamentary elections, prior to the last one fairly when was the last time before that?

the guurti elections was last time over close to 20 years ago! Some even died and the kins inherited their positions.

stop dropping years without a context behind it. those years represent presidential and even then some overstayed their mandate just like muse shani is trying to do now.
