HAG is a Hawiye supremacist political group with a stated goal of undermining Darood, particularly Majeerteen, in any way possible.

USC is the United Somali Congress. They were the Hawiye rebel group that ravaged the country during the 90s. They are the ones featured in the movie Black Hawk Down.

Other important rebel groups include:

• Somali Salvation Democratic Front (SSDF) - Majeerteen
• Somali Patriotic Movement (SPM) - Ogaden
• Somali National Front (SNF) - Marehan
• Somali National Movement (SNM) - Isaaq
