A yemeni migration around 3k years ago into the Ethiopian highlands and to some extent spread into Afar lowlands and they contributed nearly a quarter to habeshi ancestry.

Pretty sure it’s a language shift. They had theories on Backwards migration from the horn to the ME back into the horn. Habeshas are a wide group. Amharas for example have mixed ancestry with the Cushitic Kemants and Agaws. They also have admixture from the Omotic groups around the Omo River. The Semitic blood in them is the least out of the 3, so def a language shift imo.
