I have been reading about the U.A.E.'s sketchy behavior toward funding terrorist organizations. And I wondered if an Arab country is or was funding Al-Shabaab. I know that a great portion of the funding comes from within Somalia via extortion. However, if there were ever any outside funding for Al-Kebab, for what reason? What can one benefit from when funding this organization? And does this have to do with Somalia's placement in Africa?

Al-Shabaab is definitely being funded since nowadays they are rapidly losing land and losing support it is VERY likely that there is a 3rd party funding them to keep them alive so as to keep our nation unstable the al-Shabaab organization is LITERALLY on life support and unlike their ISIS counterpart who was wiped out and who were WAY stronger than them, yet al-Shabaab is BARELY alive as if on life support (again) it says a lot.
