Gorgor troops cant do push ups

Do these troops fight anyone?
Its just teenagers who get a few months of training in xamar then get sent to the frontlines with barely any equipment and an AK, on top of that their salary often gets held back due to corruption for months so they desert by the thousands

There was a major Gorgor desertion when ATMIS left last year, FGS thought Gorgor could replace them but they werent ready to say the least

What happened to the American-trained troops?
Danab ?

There's two Danab units, one which is a small battalion of special forces, and another which is literally just average sna soldiers who get a few weeks of american training

American training and support was cut off a few months ago when it was exposed that they were selling off rations and equipment meant for soldiers on the frontlines

Farmajo wasnt that good either but I honestly believe HSM's second term was the worst thing that happened for the SNA, under good leadership 2022-2025 was supposed to be the downfall of shabaab especially with all the new equipment they got

The goal is Jowhar. AS said as much. everything else is diversionary.

Those are all newly recruited soldiers just starting training so they’re not going to perform like elite operators or do muscle-ups perfectly right off the bat. As they gain experience, they’ll become much more effective in the field.

I’ve said before, a fluid insurgency that operates with guerrilla tactics is extremely difficult for conventional armies to combat. Even ATMIS troops have been reported deserting or fleeing, because Al-Shabaab uses ambushes, suicide bombings, and moves rapidly through remote rural areas and villages they’re like pesky mosquitoes

The real way to contain them is through coordinated airpower and naval interdiction to cut off their supplies. We can already see the government taking steps in that direction.

A lot of the revenue from land leases and land use by the government is actually being used to finance helicopters, military equipment, pay salaries, and fund other government functions.

It’s puzzling how some Somalis online interpret this as predatory land grabbing. In reality, it’s a cash strapped government trying to generate legitimate revenue to fund security and development.

This is similar to how local governments in China financed urban development and their own government through land sales and land-backed financing. For FGS, this is a temporary measure to relieve fiscal constraints while building capacity.

I don’t waste my time with slander, gossip, and conspiracy theories, which is what most Somali “reporting” has turned into nowadays. Nor do I hold some weird resentment toward FGS just to flood political section with it. You can’t explain serious issues in two sentences like the braindead crowd on Twitter, so yeah, I’ll keep writing paragraphs. I comment on every topic.

And for the record, no, the helicopters weren’t bought for “dalxiis.” They were specifically purchased for counter Al-Shabaab operations. Somalia received the T-129 Atak, a two-seat combat helicopter designed for close air support, reconnaissance, and precision strikes against ground targets.

As far as I know, they haven’t been deployed yet , not even in Jubbaland because crews are still being trained.

I meant in general . I don’t take articles or social media posts at face value, because whenever I dig deeper, most of them are just recycling conspiracies, gossip, or throwing around false slander. That doesn’t mean I’m “pro-FGS” or biased toward one group or region. It just means I don’t eat up everything I see online and prefer to keep a balanced outlook.

The helicopters in those TikTok clips you’re talking about were not the Turkish-delivered T-129 attack helicopters.

What you’re referring to is the same claim repeated in this article piece, where they report on allegations that it might have been one of the six Bell 412 helicopters donated by Italy (2023–2024) used for commercial purposes.

But that whole narrative came from social media chatter and false allegations. In reality, those helicopters were unrelated ones bought by a private security company for airlifts and safe transport , not the Italian-donated aircraft, and definitely not the Turkish T-129s.
