Were these people Berber or West African?

They have many ancient skulls from that area. I think ancient DNA studies will be done on them soon. I suspect they were Berber.

They measured the skulls and they don't seem too Negroid. I'm betting on them being Berber. Perhaps in a few years, I will be proven right.

The North African tribes had better tech and kept out the SSAs for the most part. Movements were primarily from North Africa into SSA. Especially with R1b in Lake Chad, it is obvious.

They tend to focus on Semitic, though. The most boring and overstudied branch of the AA family. More studies on Cushitic and Omotic would be interesting.
