Genuine religious questions

So guys I've been thinking, why is alcohol haram? Another question is khat and smoking cigarettes equally haram as consuming alcohol? I hope some of you who are well versed in the deen can answer this.

First of all, you should ask these questions to a knowledgeable and trustworthy person, and not to somalispot. Read here why alcohol is haraam:

As for khat, cigarettes and alcohol, khat and alcohol are intoxicants, while cigarettes are just harmful to your body. So no, they are not "equally haram" but they are both haraam nevertheless. Allaah knows best.

Perfumes and handsanitizers contain alcohol but I guess as long as you don't get it in your mouth then it is not haram to use them

What a lame argument in support of alcohol use. Remember in Quran, Allaah swt forbids us because Shaitan likes to use this tool. Also, Allaah swt said- Alcohol and Gambling have small benefits. I guess the small benefits is the Perfumes and cleaning agents.
I do not know-- small benefit for gambling tho, maybe someone can help me with that

Historically Alcohol used to be 100% halaal. Then Umar ibn Khatab complains to the prophet pbuh, and Allaah swt decreed it to be haram. I guess the Sahabas were praying salat while drunk

This phenomenon is one of few things that used to be halaal and then later made Haraam.

I was reading the links badboy posted and it seems alcohol was prohibited because it causes people to forget Salah as well as to fight etc..
No u do not understand how Quran verses are revealed.
Allah chooses to reveal certain ayahs during the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasalams life in order for it to show the reason for the verse and we get get true understanding, but the ayaat were always gonna be revealed.
Alchohol was always gonna be forbidden in the Quran, Allah just chose to reveal it in segments for people to slowly wean off, there is a hadith proving my point
Abu Huraira reported: On the night of the Ascension, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was presented with two vessels, one full of wine and the other full of milk. The Prophet looked at them both and he chose the vessel full of milk. The Angel Gabriel, upon him be peace, said, “All praise is due to Allah who has guided you to that which is natural, for had you selected the wine your nation would have been led astray.”

Here we can see that alchohol was always bad and will always be bad, Allah would always prohibit it, its just the wisdom in revealing verses slowly which allows ppl to quit drinking.

Also Alchohol has been mentioned by Allah to have so many evils, why would Allah only prohibit something that always has evil only because a believer prays while drunk, it wouldnt make sense, the believers praying drunk was a was for Allah to use his perfect hikma and prohibit alchohol for everyone, even outside the prayer alchohol is deadly

Alchohol and other intoxicates, lead to loss of intellect, and when u lose intellect, u lose everything, u say stupid things and do stupid things, not only are their brain damage but body damage and soical damage from all of these things,
they atttach a person to the dunya, waste a persons time, ruin a persons energy and motivation, they make a persons heart hard and more interested in dunya pleasures than Allahs pleasure, they make a person miss out on important stuff, cause hatred and enminty between people and fights and barbaric behaviour, behviour which wouldnt suit a muslim, they waste a persons money. There are so much more
All these things lead to a person being lead away from the remembrance of Allah, which is one of the biggest reasons for it being prohibited, they distract u from your deen and akhirah
