Seriously anyone else gets triggered when Horn of africans refer to themselves as east african. Yes we are included in it and its geographically correct, but nowadays for some reason more of our people are saying they are east african before saying they are from the horn. This is a major pet peeve for me.

I have always attached the term east africa to Kenya and Tanzania. I remember they were always referred to as ”east african”, especially in nature docs, while Ethiopia and Somalia were ” Horn of Africa”. All the news referred to Somalia as country located in the Horn of Africa, same for Itoobiya.

I blame Drake for this problem.
He started referring habeshas as east africans, while correct, there is a better term. Us horners are running wild with the term east africans. Leave that term to Kenya and Tanzania

We need to start a campaign to stop horners with associating with this term. It has gone too far.

It's like that african chain thread started by West Africans with a Afrobeats song but soon all of Africa, including Somalia and the rest of Horn africa and North Africa joined in.

Outside of tiktok and twitter, Kenya is more known as East Africa. Kenya probably is the most famous african country after Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt. All the nature docs that made it famous always say its an East african country.


Only reason why horners say east african is because it rolls of the tongue better then Horn of africa.
