I was listening to Joe Rogan podcast with Michael Pollan when it hit me. The Somali word for mushroom is geed jinni, my mum and older folk have weird aversion to normal mushrooms. I always wondered why it had a funny name, now it makes complete sense. Some geeljire probably ate some magic mushrooms and tripped balls hence the name geed jinni.
