Garowe the most well planned city in somalia

I have to give credit where it’s due garowe is the most well planned city in Somalia ever since being chosen as PLs capital the city has grown like no other in the right way

I don’t think can you name any other city that has developed the way it has especially since 1998

not hating or anything but y do u consider this well planned?

Positives of Garowe

1. Very clean
2. Air smells GOOD
3. Very safe.
3. The main roads are all paved and have side-walks, with trees
4. Nice hotels with large gardens, nice coffee shops, with delicious food.

Alahumma Baarik, Alhamdulilah

Negatives:

1. IDP camps near the Airport- IDP camps need to be turned into council housing or the inhabitants need to be given permanent housing in their own respective federal states; South-West and Jubbaland

2. Not all residential streets in Garowe are paved properly, some are rocky and not easy to drive on.

The advantage of new cities is that you can plan it more efficiently and Garowe has exactly this with the roads and the equal plot sizes allowing space for government work. It would look perfect with some greenery. Masha Allah to Reer Garowe.

Now that I think about it, the surroundings (except the road) look like a smaller neighbourhood in Xamar. Xamar has more investment in dabaq while Garowe has barely any but that will come in the future as Somalia modernises.

Garowe is a baby, Mogadishu is a fossil when it comes to age. Why is there any comparison?
I don't even want to think about all the MJ wealth that has been stolen in Mogadishu, that could have been used to build our own land.

Fair point however there were also no dabaq in Xamar until a few years ago as diaspora have been building them, not companies. What is gone is gone and I wish the same for all degaans in Somalia to be built to a great standard.

That's right, the North-East was abandoned and neglected thanks to Colonisation (the bombing and eventual defeat of Majeerteenia Kingdom). Prior to that, trade used to boom and it was the centre of world-trade at some point (Periplus of the Errythrean Sea).

I hate that the civil war happened, but it taught us a valuable lesson, to only invest in our own homeland.
