I’ve had a similar experience last week. Energy drinks were heavily stigmatised in my household. To my mother, drinking Red Bull was equivalent to vaping or drugs, and I ended up believing this too. I always used to look at Red Bull in disgust. But the other week, when I was under the most time pressure I’ve ever experienced, all the coffee shops next to me were closed, so the only option I had was Red Bull…. I was so disappointed in myself. I felt like I betrayed my entire lineage and felt immense guilt. I nearly cried. But it did help my energy levels. Luckily, it was only a one-time thing, and it’s something I’ll take with me to the grave. To people that know me, I’ll continue claiming I’ve never had a Red Bull before.
