France suspends military cooperation with Ethiopia as Tigray conflict intensifies

France has suspended a deal on military cooperation with Ethiopia, two sources close to the issue said on Friday, as concern intensifies over the conflict

Some are saying that, Ethiopia is being targeted for several reasons, one being: Abiy, with all of his governments flaws, is *TRYING* to make Ethiopia less dependent on aid and more self sufficient [example, no more importing products from the Americans/Europeans, that they can make at home, such as wheat, which many farmers in the USA send to Ethiopia, for profit, while Ethiopia has more than enough land/water/etc to make its own!]
We all know that, they hate to see the ''poor kneegrows'' trying to become self sufficient. You cannot control them, then.

Ethiopia is done for. In the past ajnabis supported them against the muslims in the region as they were christian and somewhat united. Now abiy has chosen china over the US and sparked conflict with egypt a US ally. Also once you factor in the fact that they cannot arm one christian side against the other, this conflict will not be resolved with the aid of Foreign powers.

Unfortunately as per usual the mainland is weak and somalis in galbeed cannot be sufficiently armed to the extent that they should be. This could easily spill over to galbeed especially if the US deliberately wants to fuel escalations to sabotage the chinese oil and gas grabs in the region.

Yes because, even though I am not a fan of abiy, he is trying to make Ethiopia less dependent on aid, and more dependent on their own resources, and you know as I know that, certain super powers benefit from Africans and their poverty. It's also easier to control a nation through aid.
