I'm curious, say a candidate aligned with Al ictisaam operatives such as Fahad Yasin (Farmaajo for instance) comes to power in the next election, what is stopping them from releasing Dahir Aweys who just happened to be imprisoned by HSM.

Al Zawahiri, Aweys and Robow are all very close to each other. During the internal power struggle, they asked Al Zawahiri to appoint a new leader for Al Shabab that isn’t Godane. Robow fought with Al Zawahiri in Afghanistan before 9/11.
