Former South Africa President Arrives in Mogadishu

It's interesting that he noted the strength and unity Somalia enjoyed the last time he came to the country in 1974. He was a good leader for South Africa.

The President was correct in mentioning the challenges that Somalia faces and will continue to face from foreign actors due to their fear in the country reemerging as a strategic competitor in the region. As the country that connects the gulf and African nations Somalia has historically maintained great commercial and diplomatic importance.

Sidenote: It was interesting seeing former Governor Xaaf in attendance at this meeting.

What clan does the young bald guy at the far right of the table belong to? I believe he's gudomiyaha maxkamada sare. He has a strong reer waqooyi accent. :cosbyhmm:

Based on the press release, he's there to lobby for 'HoA integration'. The AU has a nefarious agenda in Somalia; never ending AMISOM mandate, increasing responsibilities to IGAD concerning Somalia's maritime waters, and now the most cynical of them all, "Horn of Africa integration". At first this was presented as economic integration to promote trade within HoA states but apparently political integration is in the works as well.
