Before Farmaajo our only foreign policy was to beg for bilateral aid from other countries in exchange for everything and anything, with Farmaajo as President we regained independence over our foreign policy that alone is a huge milestone and one of the major reasons by I support Farmaajo, I am Somali citizen living abroad of course I like Farmaajo's foreign policy because it aims to protect Somali citizens and raise our status in the world both directly by holding other countries accountable for how they treat Somali citizens but also indirectly by having a respectable independent foreign policy raising the status of Somalia in the world and thus Somali expats.

The funny thing is Farmaajo has gotten us more Bilateral aid than previous Presidents who sold their soul for pennies, how bizarre is that lol

I think the only person who can maintain this is Deni if I have to be completely honest, Deni is corrupt and a dictator but I doubt he will shit on what we build so far.

You are referring to the GCC family dispute between Saudi and Qatar, can you substantiate your claim that it was bad times for Somalis, I am not from the Gulf saxib so perhaps you could enlighten me.

As a Somali from the west, how Farmaajo dealt with the GCC crisis was impeccable foreign policy, taking the neutrality stance was the best move for Somalia interest, it raised our status and respect in the world as a sovereign country with agency and independent foreign policy.

Neutrality kulaha. We were up Qatar’s ass the whole time through it. Damaging our relationship with other Gulf countries.

We’re even more dependent on foreign aid economically too. 35% under HSM, now 45% under Sharmaajo.

So everything you said is a lie.

He’s achieved one thing, to put at risk our economic reform and debt forgiveness. From Abdiqasim onwards every Somali President has successful managed us economically. I have to congratulate all of them for putting Somalia at first.

Farmaajo is now putting 20 years at risk.

Saudi arabia demanded we sever diplomatic ties with Qatar and attempted to impose their will on us with threats and bribes, we declined it and maintained an independent foreign policy by remaining neutral in the GCC crisis, this exercise raised our status and respect level in the world stage, today we are not mortal enemies with Saudi and we still friends with Qatar, its water under the bridge, the important thing about this event was Somalia emerging as having independent foreign policy.

Yes the aid we receive has increased, I am glad you admit to this, increase in aid is to some degree linked with our positive and progressive foreign policy, many nations wants to be friends and work with us and we need their collaboration and thats something Farmaajo has facilitated.

Debt relief has nothing to do with our foreign policy, foreign aid dependency these things have nothing to do with foreign policy but economics, if you want to attack Farmaajo's government economic policy I suggest you make a different subject for that, you are all over the place.

Saxiib Im living in GCC so yes thanks to him he blow us big time.

Farmaajo’s foreign policy was to lick Ethiopia & Eritrea’s balls while at the same time doing a stripper lap dance for the Arab Master (Qatar).

I’ll be real, as someone who works in policy and analyses how governments operate.

Farmaajo handled the GCC crisis very well. It was respected by almost everyone. Even the UAE had to respect it.

No other Somali government handled a crisis like that.

It is probably the only thing I respect about Farmaajo.

Somalia and Kuwait openly declared neutrality in the issue.

However, the GCC stated that anything less than siding with them was siding with Qatar. Furthermore, Somalia is a poorer nation and of strategic interest to Saudi Arabia and the UAE during the Yemen war. Therefore, we got a lot more pressure than Kuwait.

People forget that the UAE tried to get Somalia involved in the Yemen conflict and they refused.

Then they tried to bring $10 Million USD in unmarked cash on an empty private plane into Somalia. When the government seized it, they threatened to close a hospital over it.

The UAE then tried to threaten Somali citizens in the UAE with revoking visas and the government still didn’t budge.

One of the poorest nations in the world standing up to the most powerful countries in the region and emerging unscathed is unheard of.

Do you think him choosing neutrality was bad or good? I think it was a good move since they all came together now

The relations have improved, in an interview Farmaajo even refused to remark on it simply stating it is water on the bridge and issues have been resolved.
