"BREAKING: Somalia’s ministry of Finance announced it will expand collection of VAT taxes at a 5 percent rate, effective April 1.
The new measure applies to almost all major businesses including telecom companies, banks, traders and service providers.
At the moment the government collects VAT only from businesses - imports, wholesales, hotels and manufacturing sector. The ministry recently reported that domestic income has been increasing 25 percent each month for the late 8 months. The government expects economy to grow up to 3.7 percent this year"
