Emphasis on *from* Somalia. Marriage between a qurbo joog and a Somali local back home isn't one motivated by love. That is what I was trying to say. There is a material and cultural exchange in place.

When I said Somalis don't marry each other for love, but for convenience, I was strictly referring to the diaspora. But exactly as you pointed out, if love was the motive, she would have married the guy she went to school with and lives 3 doors down.
