Islam is for everyone, hence despite my prior dislike of Tate, I do sincerely hope that Islam changes him for the better and he sincerely sees the error of his former lifestyle and words.
Leaving aside Tate, the reason why many sisters such as myself are incredibly disappointed with some of our Muslim brothers is due to their affinity with Tate prior to his conversation to Islam. We can lie to ourselves and sit here, but he struck a cord with some Muslim men because they approved of his hateful words about women and his prior brashness with regards to women. They constantly gave him the benefit of the doubt even during his period of Jahiliya at the expense of women who were Muslimas and their sisters in Islam.
I hope this conversion of Tate’s reminds him that women are the slaves of Allah and human just like him and have not been put on this earth to be disrespected and abused by men. He’ll only be able to come to that understanding if he is surrounded by good solid brothers. Hence, despite my prior apprehensions, I do hope the sincere brothers with integrity take him under their wing to show what being a Muslim man is all about.
That is all I have to say on the matter.
