A man faked his own death after getting investigated for alleged rape he had done to women. What he first did was go under different names, taking on new personas/identities/aliases, and when the investigation of the fraud he had done as well as several cases of sexual misconduct, knowing he was finished, the guy subsequently lied about having an advanced form of cancer and later made a woman corroborate claiming to be his wife stating that he died, all these elaborate efforts to flee unavoidable persecution from the authorities.

What's hilarious is, he was recognized while being admitted to a critical care unit in a hospital all the way in Glasgow for contracting covid, going under the name Arthur Knight. The police identified him since there was an international arrest warrant, and will soon face extradition.

You could get away with a lot of things pre-fingerprint days. Now, you have to make a lot of effort to buy yourself time to be spotted somewhere inevitably. The best a person can do is move to a poor country and go off-grid quickly. There is no chance in the developed world, and you will live in an indefinite house arrest condition to stay under the radar, no life.
