Then buy some PoHang class corvettes from South Korea for 300-500m a pop. Didn’t they just find 10 more tons of gold a year?

They’re not coming for Eritrea but South Kismayo area. They already have troops in Gedo nearby. Kenya right next door is a nice plus. Treat the Ogadans well and make them think Jubaland will be safe and snatch it away. All that oil on the coast line + saving a few billion in export fees makes it worthwhile.

They have zero interest in that area. Ethiopia only cares about the Red Sea. Why do you think they were threatening Eritrea for years? They think Assab is theirs. Kismayo has no strategic value to them and is far from the country.
