Don't forget the 50% elders tax.

Can you believe that Somali clans split blood money instead of giving it to the family who lost a relative?

I am starting to suspect that some clan elders relish in clan wars, they don't fight, they just sit back and wait for the money to roll in.

There needs to be a serious reform to clans, how they live and how they operate. The next time a 'clan war' breaks out, they need to arrest the culprits and their elder.

Those elders fought in their youth without anything in return, let them eat.

Or they were fucking warriors who won countless battles and are now enjoying the fruit of their 'labour'
I’d say it’s 50/50. Half of them actually fought and were lucky to survive, other half just survived by sitting around.

I also wouldn’t call any battles they won a β€œwon battle”. At the end of the day the battle was against other Somalis, no matter who β€œwon” both sides lose in the long run.

I don't know what the hell they are using, but that's extremely high death count. Normal clan skirmishes you will hear 1-5 dead. AUN and may peace prevail amongst the brotherly clans.
when the kacaan fell and the army was disbanded dhulbahante got plenty of heavy weaponry from gen abdiaziz ali barre (controlled the triangle cities in jan 91). so they are well armed. they had clan wars but not the koonfurian freakshow of 15 years of uninterrupted biblical war.

I doubt most of the heavy weapons are still functioning. Its mostly the usual tekniko and zuu. The only explanation is they fought in the town rather than open baadiye.

The deceased family gets one third of the mag.

100 camels the immediate family gets 33 of the finest and biggest camels.

The 67 camels of lesser quality are distributed to tribesmen because they are responsible for taking revenge of your murder and they run the risk of being a victim in case of retaliation with the ongoing revenge killings in the future.

These are the sons of dervish bro, they will fight for years over anything. Hopefully @Hot Ballah doesn't get killed while therem

You have to demand a Dhulbahante explanation like @Ferrari when he tags them he ask @dharbaash or @Ozark explain this or that

These elders are part of an unofficial judicial system. You need finances when court is in session. There is no judge. Just lawyers elders from opposing clans arguing over compensation. Thats how greater Isaaqistan and Migiurtinia maintained law and order even before Afweyne regime collapsed. Muqdisho where Afweyne was justice didnt have elders with authority derived from the confidence of their clans

Warlords filled the void in territories Afweyne regime and Italian administration used to administer the laws and clan elders had little authority
