East African Woman Describes Her Trip Walking Through Istanbul And Attracts Hate

She’s Ghanaian. The comments are weird. I don’t think it’s racism, they’re just fascinated by her. Although, I think if her hair was straightened or in a wig, she wouldn’t draw this much of a crowd.

Same thing happened to me when I was in Turkey, I was taking pictures everyday with random people, even had the askar stop by and take a pic. I went to Turkey before a lot of somalis went there so they were not used to somalis/black people.

She's definitely ain't East African. She does have unique hair. I'd be tempted to touch her hair as well I can't lie. She is beautiful though I can't lie which is conflicting because of my racist tendencies :banderas:

I remember wearing a Durag to Antalya week ago to my trip to turkey: one of the taxi gave me a cigarette, other pedestrians gave me a bro first.

I’ve been receiving positive reaction by the people just for wearing a durag.

but they weren’t demonising.

Their reaction is pretty positive for how she’s dressed. Probably would get called a ho if she did this outside of Istanbul.

Why were you wearing a durag in public

She's beautiful but she's a little exposed.

Whatever happened to being beautiful but modestly elegant?

My older brother said the same thing.

have they never seen a black person :ftw9nwa:

I love her attitude though. Most people would feel offended but she enjoyed her celebrity status

I spent a few weeks in Turkey this year and tbh, no one cares if you’re madoow.

There’s a lot of Somalis and other Africans in the major cities so they’re used to blacks.
