Big Somali population problems. Living in a significant Somali population must be like dodging a network of gossip spies, where all the town gossip reaches all ears lol

Loool this is so sweet. He was probably the miskeen type of Somali uncle. They're the best.
wallahi Allah blessed that man without knowing any English... he was blessed. He taught me Quran at home. Allah opened up his rizq because of Quran. He married three women opened a huge dugsi and a built his own house just teaching kids Quran. I'll never forget him, he would sit on a joodari and all of us would place our kitabs on the sides and that was dugsi basically for me. I love that man for the sake of Allah.

Walahi when I was around 15 my macalin saw me wearing a bandana at evening. I was headed to a school party. The next saturday, even though I didn't make any mistakes, he beat me

I remember this one time where this family friend who's never met my father before saw me and him sitting in the men's side of the restaurant together, and he excused himself outside so he could call my mother and aunt and tell him about this "strange man" I was eating out with :drakelaugh:Thought I was being promiscuous with older men :mjlol:Even suggested that maybe I was kidnapped. Wallahi, he had good and noble intentions, but like holy shit--Somalis really know how to assume and get in people's business.

@VixR

Ghetto places with ghetto issues. Being away from my hometown for a while, today, I went to an African cultural and music festival in Melbourne and have to catch up with so many friends, I met an older Somali guy who asked me why I hang with all these non Somali guys. Mind you my best two Somali mates were there. I told him, atheer, go back to Bosaaso, plenty of Somalis there. Then I saw an older Somali lady with her hijab on the stage & dancing with big shot State politicians and coppers to an African band tune and my Somali friend reminded me that she is from the same place as that older guy and she is an academic who is an executive member of the Australian Multicultural Commission, I scratched my head and apologised to reer Bosaaso.
