No one in Puntland would care about Somaliland if it restrained itself to land inhabited by Isaaq & Gadabursi. Puntland cannot allow Somaliland to secede with 60,000 sq km of Harti territory.

exactly. They seem to forget isaaq wants out of Somalia but wants to force Harti to come with them.

I don’t want somaliland independence and prefer a strong Harti state. A independent somaliland is a threat to Ogadeniya and somaliland has a very pro ahmaar mindset by culture

a khaatumo state as a buffer is much preferable to us to defend the northern border of Ogadeniya with a friendlier Harti rather than a very pro ahmaar isaaq

so kudos to Gaas for standing for the strategic interest which benefits me indirectly I guess.
