Somalia should not have adopted the Latin script, reading and writing Af-Somali is weird. It's not difficult for me, but it doesn't flow well. Somalia needs a better script.

They didn't use our native Osmaniya script because of qabyalaad kkkk Siad Barre would rather use latin then what was made by MJ.

The reason why you feel that way is because the Somali language feels unnatural to the Latin script, in that we have appropriated certain letter to mean completely different sounds that are not in any other Latin-derived language.
Now, this where the hate and qashin reacts will come. I think Somalia should've stuck to the wadaad script but I do not mind the Latin either. The alphabet between Somali and Arabic is similar and Somalis learn the quran from a young age so they would automatically become literate in the language.
My problem with Osmanya script is that it requires teaching everybody how to read again. Furthermore, we will need to have new keyboards/printing presses for the language which will require a lot of money and lobbying. It will take years for companies to make computer/phone keyboards for the language meaning younger Somalis would be locked out the internet.

It's the script, the Latin script is simply ill-suited for the Somali language.

It's just you cuz you're diaspora who isn't fluent in Af Soomaali
Latin script is best suited for Af soomaali make in it easier to write and read with soomaali vowels being represented aa ii ee uu oo where in arabic which is based on consonants it is hard to include those vowels where you have to create dots or new symbols in arabic for the vowels

I don't like the Arabic script for Somali either. I believe we should use one of our own scripts.
Latin is the easiest creating a new script would require ppl to learn who to write that script and not help with literacy while Lain has proven itself to be versatile writing system that can be used with majorty languages
We can have a dual script system, similar to how the Arabs and Hindis write their languages in the Latin script online
You're still going to have to teach people to read again, which costs time and money.
The Osmanya script is 100 years too late for Somalia, it's between the Latin or Arabic script.
