my first trip without any supervision by parents or elders was to the motherland.

I so badly wanted to expand my wings and just explore.

I bought my tickets and just dropped into the motherland. I stayed there for a month.

I remember my parents told my uncle to confiscate and hold on to my passport till I'm leaving back to the states.

I remember that first time meeting my uncles and cousins.

Something funny happened tho. I was told before hand that uncle Sugule will pick you up from the airport. As I got off the plane I was approached by an older man and I just gave the dam man a hug. Turns out he was send by my uncle to get me outside the airport.

At the exit gate of the airport I came across a man identical to my father. I give him a huge hug and he showed me love. Then, like a visiting head of state, my uncle had all my cousins lined up and ready to greet me.

Folks! I have never met more uglier guys then them. Messed up body shapes and just looking gaajo :susp:

That was then, the time of gaajo but now them dudes are reer magaal and look like they been in the west all their lives thanks to the support we lend them after getting to know each other personally. :friendhug::hemad:

My first unsupervised trip is tinged with guilt bc I unwittingly scared the living daylights outta my family. It was while I was in hs for a weekend, and I left of my own accord w/o telling anyone, bc I was sure my parents wouldn't let me go otherwise, so I took matters into my own hands. It was 3 hours away from home at a lakehouse, camping out and hiking with a group of friends from school. It was sorta worth it even though the aftermath was messy and I was antsy about the response so I couldn't live in the moment. I never ghosted like that again. Looking at this picture actually produces residual guilt:

My first trip without my parents or a guardian was with my sisters, we went to California. Back in my junior year of high school. We also drove to Mexico and got chased by a pitbull, our car was almost stolen but we had fun.

My first trip without my parents was Amesterdam.
