Who has Somali friends ? And how long have you known them?

I had one Somali friend and I meet her in collage , she wasn't really my friend, she had different faces, she use to talk behind my back a lot with my white friends when I wasn't around and she used to make plans with them and not include me. I don't know what that was all about, but honestly it use to hurt me, someone who's from the same background as me doing this to me ? Even worse is she is Muslim.

I think she would do it intentionally, she would buy them gifts for their birthdays lol and when it was my bday she wouldn't care but they used to gets something?

She was the only Somali girl I've ever known growing up and I hate her so much for bullying me

Atleast you have great weather and alligators in florida....thats some positive lol. How is your somali?

Damn you guys live in isolated places. I am so glad I am from little Mogadishu. I can't go a morning commute without meeting a Somali and going to school and living around Somalis.

I think it is mentally detrimental to grow up around people who don't look like or have cultural similarities to you. I use to live in the burbs for a little bit. Was depressing.

And its true you have a lot of non-Somali friends growing up but most of the friends you retain after finishing school are Somali. Same can be said with other groups. Nothing wrong with multiculturalism but social networks close ones should have a shared set of values and heritage to be healthy and sustainable. Hell even within a cultural hemogony there is a need for etching out a distinct identity, hence clans, tribes, political ideologies and religions. People are drawn to others that are like themselves and that begins with appearance.

I hope you find some nice Somali friends sxb.:samwelcome:

I think age plays role. If you are a teenager then most people are the same. But you wont see many 30 year olds being friends with out og similar type of people

Almost all my friends were Somalis, but I cut contact with all of them because they're salafi doqomiin. :nahgirl: My best friend became a dugsi teacher :deadpeter::deadmanny::deadrose: :mjcry:

Now I'm friends with caadaans, asians, i met at uni and Somali atheists I met on Somali exmuslim discord. :banderas:

I'm shocked at how you can be a Somali and not have Somali friends.
You know what they say; a Somali alone in the world is a terrible thing.

Most friendships have ups and downs, and most friends become upset with each other once in a while. May Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) open your eyes to Salafiyyah.
