ethiopia always outnumbered Eritrea but Eritrea was able to defend its territory. For example when the Ethiopian army waged a brutal 30 years long war in Eritrea and when the TPLF led Ethiopian army invaded Eritrea in 1998.

Ethiopia hasn’t been benefiting from its large population. During the Tigray war they were struggling to mobilize its soldiers and were hardly capable to defeat TPLF alone that’s why they seeked help from Eritrea. if Ethiopia will invade Somalia this can get very problematic for Ethiopia. The millions of Somalis from Ogaden will stand with Somalia and Hawd and SSC too. Imagine if Ogaden Somalis block the Ethiopia-Djibouti road.

Now you have Egypt and Turkey who have a military presence in Somalia.
If Ethiopia is making this move Ethiopia will receive a lot diplomatic pressure

I have been in somalia trust me. I was there for 2 years in the north Hargeisa and I went to Mogadishu for two months back in 2012. It's true that I haven't lived in the south to know the people well though
