They weren’t trying to get papers. They married out as they were sailors in 1910-1960s Britain in which there were virtually no Somali women. Many still refused to marry and simply went home.

The stats where from 2011 first gen who fled and already got papers as refugees where already getting married by 2011.

Women are definitely more open to it then the men in general as time goes on but they are also more restricted when it comes to marrying out in general aswell. Probably in the next 2 gens women will probably marry out way more bit that could aslo lead to the men reciprocating if they are all marrying out aswell so I think the rate is just gonna be equal imo.

Women just post about getting married put more frequently on soical media compared to men.

Most Somalis marry other Somalis. Most Somalis prefer their fellow Somalis. Only a minority of men and women marry out. Hence this topic has been flogged to death. Let’s let it go. Even if more Somalis than before are marrying out, why would anyone be surprised? We live in a globalized world. Let’s respect each other’s decision and keep it moving in.

I agree with you but Somali women tend to marry outside their culture at a proportionately higher rate than Somali men. Somali men almost rarely marry outside their culture. We need to respect other people's decisions. Somali men tend to harass and insult women who marry outside their culture. Why are they very hostile and aggressive towards Somali women who marry outside their culture? This is a sign of an inferiority complex.

I disagree with her saying that Somali women and Somali men marry outside at the same rate. That is genuinely dishonest. Other than that I agree with the rest of her points.
