It really puts things into perspective when you realise that those parents are both dead now and that child is an old man.

All of our lives are just quick and feeble as a spark in a campfire.

And yet we act like we will never see the end of our lives.

We walk the earth in our youth with a huge ego and our head held high but growing older humbles us as we hang our head low and move cautiously.
