Displacement of people in Mahaday, Eastern Middle Shabelle due to increased Shabaab presence & health concerns - DC reports

The DC of Mahaday, Eastern Middle Shabelle, Salah Ahmed reports of an increased presence of Al-Shabaab in the district, and mentions the displacement of the local population due to Al-Shabaab presence and also due to flooding of the river banks.

DC also mentions the increasing health concerns that led to the death of children due to diseases. Overall, situation is getting worse in Eastern Middle Shabelle & the DC mentions how the government that claims to rule the district (Hirshabelle) has done nothing to assist the people except for Igu Sawir and giving one time portion of food for 600-700 people.

Look at the amount of displaced people from the outskirts of Eastern Middle Shabelle who have now made it to Mahaday town.

Eastern Middle Shabelle is still a hub for Al-Shabaab, after all the SNA troops that were deployed there, Shabaab still remain present and have huge influence.
