I've noticed this lately that some people online have issues with our integral self confidence. Most Somali people I know are prideful of our history, lineage, and being Somali. They seem to bring up the state of the country as some sort of reason as to why we shouldn't be prideful... as if external conditions should affect how we feel about ourselves. Imagine placing your confidence only on the state of your country, and not on something deeper within you that cannot be broken. Alxamdulilah my family and culture taught me to be proud of being Somali and having honor regardless of financial situation.
This seems to be an inferiority complex being projected onto us. Do some cultures not teach their kids to have internal self confidence?
