Dude we dont want a cult personality in somaliaHis old school he thinks it's publically correct to be a nationalist even tho their no bloody progress with that idealogy and all we have is decades after decades lost by living by this failed idealogy that died in 91.
You support a more democratic and federalist approach? His old school he thinks it's publically correct to be a nationalist even tho their no bloody progress with that idealogy and all we have is decades after decades lost by living by this failed idealogy that died in 91. Grown adults bury things that don't work and bring new solutions.
Nothing like that in somalis its just personality cultYou support a more democratic and federalist approach?
What's the personality cultNothing like that in somalis its just personality cult
You support a more democratic and federalist approach?
Hmm that's a very unuque interesting view, i want to also know your views on the 4.5?I'm a neo traditionalist first and foremost and I believe local systems that locals understand and is based on their culture(clannism) and values(wada tashi or consensus type politics).
I only support democracy because that's the current geopolitical foreign flavour but my heart wasn't and still isn't settled with it because thats a blue print on how the majority rules and that's in stark contrast to our wada tashi consensus values.
What I do know any foreign system won't work in Somalia if it isn't crafted carefully to compliment the culture and values, we were all nationalist and democratic in 1960 to 1969 following in the new style of governance from colonials and we then went shuuci in 69 and it came tumbling down in 91.
Now were all capitalist and democracy and federal let's see how long that last but my prediction is a bit better as the federal structure takes clan culture onboard but we are struggling on governance method as the majority rules system causes way to many problem and isn't a good fit for our wada Tashi values so my prediction is federalism may last but not the democracy.
Hmm that's a very unuque interesting view, i want to also know your views on the 4.5?
Wouldn't sub clan level be too complicated though doc?I don't think it's perfect and has huge issues like an Issa has 8 MPS while Abgaal has 12. Abgaal and Issa like wtf power sharing is that. I think the idea was a good start untill it got misused to give non darod clans way more share then the on-ground realities.
I think it should be done at a sub clan level power sharing as that's what people are loyal too not wider tribe power sharing.
Wouldn't sub clan level be too complicated though doc?
Interesting, haye doc I feel like i am derailing the thread so that's all my questions thanks for answering them.Noone is fighting for darod or hawiye or dir names it's totally irrelevant in politics but sub clan loyalties is the realist thing and you would think our power sharing should be done at that level. U would set rules that you need to win 3 or more clan level grade votes so U need to win a majority in category a, b, c clans to secure a majority in parliament.
Even in tight races they would fight for clan d and e categories making everyone feel inclusive and it reflects the reality on the ground better then 4.5.
