You guys are so behind here in Canada, British Columbia we have:

1) The National Alert Ready System for major disasters. Which never went off since I have been here except when they're testing a few times a year.

We also have The Amber Alert System for crimes like abduction for a minor. This one goes off atleast afew times a year notifying the public to lookout for abducted child.

We live in an earthquake sensitive location so anytime the Alert goes off I worry about Earthquake
