As long as the majority in parliament go with the constitutional changes it is going to happen.
parliament has been comprised, there was people in disagreement. Parliament is supposed to dissolve all grievances, not look past it. I trust puntland to go with the constitution, but ask for some compromise.

A compromise is not necessary unless there are enough votes to block the changes. We'll have to wait and see. The only debatable aspect of the proposed changes is the number of parties imo.

Like I said pushing constitution amendment in the period of time they've given themselves is just not sustainable. This should be a long process where the president actually goes to each state to talk 1 to 1 about what the changes are and what the states want. I think HSM attention should be on national security right now and he should have talks regarding the constitution in the background.
HSM comprises, because he always compromises. In the end a good chunk of the amendments are good, and the amendments that aren't will be compromised on in the end of the day.
The biggest obstacle is the MoU, countries have sided with Somalia because it garned enough trust with them. If Somalia descends into infighting, no one will care about what Ethiopia does to Somalia. Unity above all else, that means conscending when you must, and compromising when it's needed.
I feel like the constitutional amendments should be finished when we gain an elected parliament, when 1m 1v get's implemented. One of the big reasons HSM gets so much critizime is because he lacks the democratic mandate to truely govern.
He should work on a massive retraining program for the army, mixing the unites, getting rid of warlords and commanders loyal to arabian patrons. Give them proper training and standardize the equipment needed.

I agree about the first half but the second won't happen. It'll take a while before such ideas are considered seriously.
So they'll be heading to Puntland? Honestly this feels like a lot of stuff happening too quick.
