I've observed the incredible support Somalis extend when Ajnabi face oppression. Yet, the current situation in Ethiopia weighs heavily on my heart, Wallahi. These past few days have been difficult; the experience gives me a glimpse into the hardships Palestinians endure.

Because many young Western Muslims (not just Somalis) care about looking like good people to their peers than actually doing good in a productive way.

Diaspora Somalis get their information from the news. If Somalia’s struggles were more widely reported on, more diaspora Somalis would care about what’s going on back in Somalia
Compare this to the Ethiopian diaspora. The west didn’t cover Ethiopia’s recent internal wars, yet I saw so many people from Ethiopia’s diaspora protest and show that they care about their home country. This is because their parents inform them about what’s going on back in Ethiopia
I blame this on Somali parents. If they don’t keep their kids informed about what’s going on somalia, how do you expect them to care?

People alway say ''we can care about both at once'' but that is rarely the case, 20 posts about 'muh poor Arabs'' (they've constantly started wars they can't win) but only 5 or so posts about their own country.
Why is it the duty of the rest of the world to care about Arabs? They don't even care about their own children, so why should we? They keep starting wars for no reason, then they get mad at everyone else for not caring enough. They're some of the most lazy & entitled people on Earth. The only entertainment coming from Arabs is watching them kill each other somewhere in a desert.
There are tons of other wars around the world, so why do Arabs deserve any special attention? Sudan, for example, has been completely forgotten, so you don't have the excuse of ''We care about our fellow Muslims!!'' Are the Sudanese not Muslim enough for us to care about? Arabs will only scream ''One Ummah'' when it is other Arabs being hurt. Not mentioning their brothers in India, China etc. Haven't seen a single Arab protesting for Sudan or the Uyghur etc.
Arabs aren't even useful, they have probably the worst reputation on Earth, nor do they innovate or bring anything to the table. They have no achievements or contributions to speak of in the 21st century, at least other countries progressed like Korea. The only things Arabs have done is increase the crime rate & bring more violence into every country they enter. Modern Arabs are collectively a useless people and are nothing but a drain on every society that has taken them in the last 100 years. I'm starting to see why the Turks don't like them.

it’s actually a very common sentiment. I went to a protest for Western occupied Somalia and invited a Somali girl and she said she doesn’t go to protest unless it’s for Palestine where people are real victims.
I’ve met MANY Somalis who think bombs going off in xamar are good and 100 percent justified.
I don’t even pay attention to online but the reality of Somalis. They don’t have a concept of justice. They only understand that if a Somali from another region is dying, suffering or raped they’re ‘safer’ or winning.

You're wrong about Sudan & your stupid attempt at decoupling Sudan from it's Arab identity. It's an Arab country that's going through civil war and other Arabs & non-Arabs have spoken on the issue on social & mainstream media. Not to mention, the Sudanese civil war received a ton of media coverage on Arabic news channels like Al-Jazeera etc.
The only reason why Gaza/Palestine is getting more media coverage now is because they're literally getting pounded daily by an occupying force that has made its intentions clear to wipe Palestine off the Map.

Young somalis are ashamed of their identity that's why so many I come across on social media lie and say they're mixed or go as further and say eritrean even though they're blatantly somali. I think is all the hate we recieve left right centre in every social media platform which makes these younger generation not care about their identity and that's including anything that's happening in Somalia. Not to mention the media hardly ever broadcast Somalia even thoigh we have went through the worst famine couple of years ago nor briadcast the flood.
For most of my life I was honestly clueless about what was going on in somalia. I had to join somali spaces online to get into the habit of learning about what's going on back home. I did this around the age of 21.
My parents never kept me up to date with what was going on back home. I never went full sjw for non somali causes but I definitely knew more about what was going on with Palestine and BLM during my teen years compared to somalia issues.
