By now, the aging of states in the 3rd world isn't a particularly novel, but an underrated phenomena was from 1950-1980, most countries outside of Japan and the West got younger, because infant mortality went down as fertility stayed fairly stagnant, driving down median age.

This is China's median age, but easily extrapolate to Africa, Asia, LATAM, etc. Makes so much sense why 3rd worldism was a thing from the 50s-90s. Imagine getting richer, more literate, more populous and also younger at the same time. Insane scales of exponential growth.
