It’s not a matter of if it’s possible or not he could easily hold elections put up a few booths in a couple cities, have soldiers secure the areas, let people vote and have hired workers assist the illiterate folks, slap dye on their thumb and tell dem goodbye.

It’s more a matter of if he wants hold them.

When you say kickstart the process, do you mean 1m1v? I thought the PL wide elections are set to take place this December.

It’s more a matter of if he wants hold them.

He wants a legitimate election. Deni wants the Xamar seat. If he accomplishes a 1m1v election and wins he can stack the PL MPs in his favour and be in the last two vs HSM promising 1m1v and all the other things he’s accomplished in PL.

He hurt himself with the Bosaso clashes. I don’t think he wants to rig elections and receive condemnation from international community/other Somali politicians

Yes he wants to start council elections which will determine 3 official parties, and yes, he can fire and appoint mayors since they're not elected even when they're elected by a council he can fire them if there are reasons like in Garowe mayor's case but after 1m1v this will not be possible.
