The constant lies spewed about the "Ethiopian Invasion" and the romantic nostalgia with the ICU I see online is truly mind boggling and needs to be addressed.

It is common known knowledge that the USA pushed Ethiopia to invade because they were launching a global war on terrorism after the 9/11 attacks, they feared that the rise of ICU would make Somalia a terrorist hub for Al-Qaeda, their concerns ended up being true with ex Al-qaeda member Hassan Dahir Aweys being an influential figure within the ICU and Osama Bin Laden openly advocating for the ICU.

Somalis who hate peace and order always use this lie to try deflect blame off themselves, Alshabaab was formed in 2003 and blended into Hassan Dahir Aweys ICU radical Islam faction, they later gained power due to the South supporting the khawarij against government forces

The ICU was truly a joke, to be an Islamic leader you must first be vouched for by credible ulema yet Southern Somalis think anyone wearing a kufi has right to be Muslim leader LOL, none of the ICU members were verified leaders and this showed with the amounts on internal divisions and ideologies it had, they was always bound to fail and would've fought themselves
ICU was divided into 3 factions, Two khawarij alkebab like forces and 1 moderate which was lead by Sheikh sharif, during ICU early reign some parts of Somalia were allowed to do basic activities such as watch TV but later basic human activity was banned like playing sport because khawarij deemed it to be "demonic" LOL.
There's a reason why Abdullahi Yusuf & Puntland efforts are respected in Somalia, had it not been for us South Somalia wouldn't even be allowed to listen to radio and Woman would've been stoned for being the victim of rape.
Not even going to address the "ICU was antiqabil" its leaders and bulk force was mainly hawiye,
