I just think it lacks decorum standing on the street and saying what you like about a random guy or girl while being recorded as well. They are being better than some but it seems like a lack of modesty to me. I don’t get how a fully covered women can do that. I fully expect to see some guys that do this everywhere though.

Somalis are religious but liberal at the same time.. We are not as strict as in some other Muslim cultures.

You are right to some degree but I think our relaxed culture between the genders also plays a role.. I don't have the impression other groups of muslims have a better understanding of the quran compared to Somalis but their culture is very strict and controlling of women/girls.

Could be. Allah knows best. I can’t speak on that as I don’t have experience with any of that. Maybe the relaxed gender relations is a personal or familial choice? Cause for sure I know families that don’t have that.

I meant somali culture in general, we are less strict on our women compared to other Muslim ethnic groups such as arabs, Pakistanis, Afghans etc..
