Damascus is getting a new metro line

Corruption and nepotism are issues every state faces, tbh. I wouldn’t say it’s unique to one state, which is why we’re in this mess. Not only is the FGS corrupt, but so is every federal state.
Corruption comes in various forms. For FGS, most of that corruption is linked to the millions in foreign aid they receive which keeps them afloat since they don't even tax citizens. However I don't know why Puntland and Somaliland are corrupt since those states have governments that are locally made and supported.

They do exist but most are poorly maintained. Its the responsibility of the government to subsidize a major road overhaul
Its kacaan era one lane roads

Its worse in other countries because they get billions in development aid and have more resources than Somalia yet they still fall behind. Corruption is endemic to most African governments.
Were not talking about overall paved roads, but essential infrastructure which every african country has, its basically the equivalent of a big highway between Galkacyo and Jowhar or Balad Xawo to Jowhar, or lascanod to borama, all of this in a straight line to get from point a to point b as fast as possible

Puntland is the worst out of all man, I dont even know how to describe their government its like SL but way worse, Corruption and nepotism are literally normal there and the people dont care as long as theyre ruled by mj and deni tells them were going to take capture some tents in sanaag and shoot some aks in sool, their so called president also isn't doing anything to help the situation in the whole region

The only time you will hear about puntland is when theres a dispute between deni and fgs or when they build one road every decade, if Somalia officially balkanizes theyre probably in the podium of the most cooked regions
I can't tell if you're trolling or not, but Puntland is the state least reliant on the FGS. It also has the largest budget. I'm not sure how any balkanization scenario would harm it.

Sxb please stop acting like its a small problem, for the past 3 decades we've been classified as the most corrupt country on earth, south sudan recently took that title but were now 179th

It is a big problem and if only you knew how deep it goes

It doesnt have the largest budget and i was talking about potential not if its reliant on fgs, in fact thats the whole problem, whats the blue part of the puntland flag for if they dont want to cooperate with mogadishu ? what kind of hypocrisy is that

It does have the largest state budget, unless you consider SL to be a federal state. I think in terms of potential, it can have a good future. With the expansion and upgrading of Bosaso port, and the Garacad corridor project, there's a lot of room to grow.

Whats the annual budget ? I dont remember SL but FGS was around 1B$ that im sure of

This has been changing and Somalia is undergoing a road transformation.

I welcome this new road it’s much needed for economic development in the area @Somali Saayid

I’m not acting like it’s a small problem 🤣 I just don’t think it’s unique to a single state.

That’s good for them, but that still doesn’t mean there isn’t corruption. I posted a video about a man who has spent 27 years maintaining the roads without being recognised by his federal government. Both these regions and others have many people doing tahriib and dying in the ocean, and to me that shows the lack of opportunities or prospects which are caused by corruption.

Check their plans for roads in the NTP 2024-29 its pathetic, theyre only gonan take the paved roads percentage a few numbers up, also i just realized but are you really happy about 100k for a road ? What are they building a minikart racing track ?

but that still doesn’t mean there isn’t corruption
I'm not saying there isn't corruption, I'm asking why that it exists so much. I recall that news weeks ago about someone exposing Puntland's ministers embezzling or stealing millions meant for development. How does something like that slip by?

Thing is its traditional in fms and theyre poor asf they dont have much to steal anyways, so its not shocking at all kinda the norm, but in the fgs ? its competitive corruption wlhi

Its in the culture, its primitive a primitive backwards system and its not about to change until the last snm era odey dies maybe, brutal reality check wey no dhamate saxibayal

PL and SL are built on Nepotism, its normal wallahi no is shocked and there will be no widespread public criticism, especially in PL

Considering the country's situation, it is a good start. Everything starts slowly, don't be too pessimistic.
ITS BEEN 30 YEARS

Were closer to 2050 than to 2000 do you realize that

Do you know how much progress other countries did in 30 years ?? Ceeb Caleek weeyan were still walking the same dirt roads our parents walked on, and theres no sign of changing

Afghanistan is even a bigger feat than Syria considering their situation in the last few decades, being isolated and all.

Syria have allies around them and have a culture that emphasis education for a long time unlike Afghanistan.
