Watch the ceremony, they explicitly state that this is a merger between Dahabshiil Oil and Hass Petroleum, nothing about a specific project.

The majority stake owner of the new company will be Dahabshiil with 70%.

It seems Hass was experiencing financial troubles, which allowed Dahabshiil to swoop in and acquire a controlling stake. Hass CEO said that they will be relying heavily on Dahabshiil's deep pockets (as well as Hass' technical prowess) to expand into East Africa.

40% of Hass was sold to the kingdom of Oman in 2017 for a lot of money, the only official shares they sold is to Oman


Haas is in Tanzania, Uganda , Congo , Kenya , Sudan, Somalia, etc. Haas is in over 11 countries.

The deal with Dabashil is for the business in Somalia. That’s all. They make more money outside Somalia then in.
