All that greeen is good for the eyes.

Indhihi basaasayoo Gabiley ma aragteen?

This is the map of fertile lands in Somalia. There is some green in Odweyne district and Sanaag highlands but the most fertile areas are in Gabiley region which is considered the agricultural capital of Somaliland. I hope Somaliland takes advantage of its fertile regions and stop depending on foreign crops but instead use their own land to feed their own people with fruits and vegetables, inshallah.

Saalax Bidaar

Truthfulness so often goes with ruthlessness
Gabiley, Southeastern Awdal, oodwayne and Sanaag could definitely feed Somaliland population pretty easily.

Gabiley can be a major farming region, but the only way you can farm daallo mountains is if you cut down the forest(and even then it wouldn't be useful). The mountains in sanaag should be used for their water resources to irrigate the plains and lowlands.

Gabiley region has an abundance of water underground and lose a lot of wasted fresh water during the seasonal period that always reaches to the Gulf of Aden. Apparently with this much water can supply enough water for the whole of Woqooyi galbeed and Awdal region but the problem is that Somaliland does not have the money to make such projects so we're just hoping for the Berbera project to succeed first, inshallah.

Daalo is good for growing khat, opium poppy and other drugs however we use the valley areas such as Midhisho for farming.

I don't think you should use underground water for farming since it's not sustainable/renewable and can get easily depleted.

30 % of the Ogallala Aquifer(20 % of cattle, corn, cotton, and wheat in the United States depends on it) for example has already been pumped out, and 40 % more is expected to be gone within 50 years. Do you know how long it will take to replenish naturally once completely depleted? 6000 years.

Underground water should only be used for drinking water, sewage etc.

You didn't get me did you? I didn't say the underground water of Gabiley region should be used for cultivation. The seasonal rivers in Gabiley region has so much water and it's wasted in the Gulf of Aden and it's been stated that could not only provide agricultural supply for water but also it can distribute water to many areas in western Somaliland.

But I do agree with you that underground water should be used for drinking water and sewage, ofcourse.

Gabiley region,Sanaag and even saaxil are extremely green. We need to dam the valleys and irrigate the farms to increase our productivity. But hey the govt is broke and the locals are morons.

waraabe

Your superior
gabilay and borama can feed Somaliland and export the rest abroad. Good for Amir biixi to start his food sustainability drive in gabiilay region

Honestly anything west of Dilla is pretty shit in terms of farming but it is still a beautiful province

Yeah, Jibril Abokor own east of Dilla but anyways southeastern Awdal is still good.

I mean look how amazing Borama is. The video quality is bad though.

I've been to Borama...It's literally surrounded by mountains.Sanaag, saaxil and even my abtiyaals capital of salaxley are better suited for farming.Inshallah we will stop importing all of our food and we become self-sufficient
