If mere states try and confront the federal government in one way or another it will lead to another civil war that the country won't be able to recover from. But if it comes to that all of the sane and logical people won't be on the wrong side of history and will be supporters of the federal government against these jahil maamul leaders. culimaad have their opinion and their opinion should be taken into account more than these politicians. the culimaad running puntland would see way more development and progress than right now. i wish one would get elected but they dont believe in democracy so they would never even run

They went from controlling our economic lifelines to completely being sidelined. Faroole drove them from the edges when he unified our curriculum, they use to control a lot of schools and taught saudi, egyptian and sudani curriculum.

Im glad to hear that we need less arab imported extremism. These sheikhs have no power and should stick to religous affairs and not involve themselves in political affairs.
Bad timing for 'ulema' to run but they should also be given the right to participate and present their ideas, they are an important section of society. As long as they adhere to the constitution, no-one should be sidelined and they are generally far more honest then technocrats or military type people.
But the timing right now may not be good as the war is against radicals. They would be excellent when the war is on corruption, they would be perfect in my opinion. Not all of them either not the political ones like ictisam, alitihaad that would be international image disaster and would put us at odds with saudis/dubai who hate islamic politicians becuz they will be pro turkey/qatar/muslim brotherhood who they are fighting. The types like that haji maxamed yasin guy is ok tho.

I don't think we can defeat corruption without the ulema either being president for 5 years and implementing anti corruption policies or running an equal power institution of the government such as an independent watch dog institution to monitor corruption in the government. They are the only ones who are really honest and can lay down a system to ensure corruption can never happen.

Can I ask you why we have this soft attitude towards SL? it disturbs me alot and I don't see the reasoning for it. If we are very anti aideed for what he did in the south, why are we happy what the snm did in the north. You think they sat under a tree like we did in peace, no guns, and violence and formed a government? there is bodies laying in borama, sanag, sool, and everywhere sxb, xoog iyo qasab iyo dhiig la daadsho bay somaliland ku noqdeen. That is not a government but a REGIMEEEEEE. If we accept that from them, then there is no reason to deny shabab the same right because they using a gun to spread their idealogy which is no different to what usc or snm did.
The only state that exists in Somalia that was formed peacefully is Puntland without a single blood dropped, no invading regions or clans, no rape or murder and no forcefully occupying people. I wonder why we have weak leaders who refuse to acknowledge this and even praise somaliland as a government, why dont u praises shabab also then because they are doing exactly the same thing as they did USING A GUN TO FORCE THEIR IDEALOGY.
