My history on the crusades is a bit messy but that doesn't matter for the context of this question.

From an objective perspective (unbiased) what do you think of the crusades?

The crusades were based in on the pursuit of wealth and land rather then for faith.

I think your partly right. It was also very much based on faith. The pursuit of wealth of course inspired many but most fought in the name of Christ.
