how the realm(somaliland) works
somaliland is really and truly isaaqland in every sense of this funny term coined by somalis who are naturally disposed to be anti somaliland.
my personal choice of a name for somaliland is The Isaaq Kingdom since this is what it really is.
how the isaaq kingdom functions?
the isaaq clan is built on a network of uterine alliances, every one is allied to the subclans they share a mother with and they have little suspicions about the subclan they do not share a mother with. this is why its an alliance of uterine's which every everyone traces themselves back to the mother of their subclan and stay united in a uterine alliance from their onwards.
the isaaq kingdom functions as an alliance of the three isaaq subclans of Habar Garhajis(habar yonis & Eidagale) Habar Awal and Habar jeclo. for centuries this clan has been disunited and at some points enemies until the british empire came and united the isaaq clan. from her on wards habar yonis vs habar jeclo wars was a thing of the past.
after the british left and somaliland united with the italian colony of somalia what happened was due to years of political side lining of influencial isaaq men what happened was these isaaq men formed an organisation name the Somali National Movement or SNM for short. the SNM was an isaaq liberation front whose sole purpose was to one recreate british somaliland and separate it from italia somalia. two recreate all state institutions and make somaliland a functioning country which embodies democratic ideals along with capitalist free market economics so from the ideals of the SNM higher ranks we can already tell they were severely opposed to President Mohammed Siad Barre of Somalia and the entire somali weyn ideology. the SNM higher ranks consisted of isaaq men who worked for President mohammad siad barre and these men were able to get into these positions because they were the generation of kids that the british empire educated in ammoud/sheikh/hargeisa when they came to colonise the somalis that lived in the north western parts of the somali peninsula. eventually these men turned the disagreements with president mohammad siad barre from just an ideology in to the SNM organisation which is the founding movement of the somaliland of 2015.

mohammad kahin - sent to russia for military training in the soviet union - military intelligence officer under siad barre - participated in the somalia vs ethiopia war.
Musa Bihi - sent to the soviet union for military training- sent afterwards to the united states for military training - colonel and air force pilot under president mohammad siad barre.
ahmed silanyo- economist educated by the british empire - minister of somalia after somaliland and somalia united once the british empire and italian colonisers left - minister under president mohammad siad barre.
ali mohammad waran'cade - spy under president mohammad siad barre and currently the minister of interior of somaliland
ahmed silanyo, musa bihi and mohammad kahin are former high ranking members of the SNM movement and are currently the men pulling the strings behind the scenes of somaliland. the snm made sure to give high ranking positions to each isaaq subclan and rotate power regularly so a habar jeclo would be given a leadership role a habar awal would be given a leader ship role and so would the other isaaq subclans. this was done so as to win support from all the isaaq subclans which were under the terrifying might of somalia's national army lead by general morgan the son in law of president mohammad siad barre. the streets of hargeisa would be patrolled by soldiers that were ogaden simply because siad barre new about the clan tensions between isaaqs and ogadens. this lead to oppression being commited while the snm was still in its infancy, somalias soldiers would rape isaaq women in hargeisa which lead to the local isaaq population supporting the snm instead of looking at the snm organisation as trouble makers. eventually the snm won despite the fact that the isaaq subclans were a terrified population with even the isaaq sultans of each subclan being afraid to speak up against siad barres oppression publicly but they would support the snm by sending their sons secretly to join and fight along side the snm. the snm's genuis idea of giving each isaaq subclan a leadership role proved to be a success and won over each isaaq subclan.
once somalia's national army was defeated the isaaq had a civil war. the divide was between garhajis (habar yonis and edagale) vs habar jeclo. habar yonis and edagale have a uterine alliance and this war lead to thousands of isaaqs killing each other in a tribal civil war but till this day it doesnt seem to bother isaaqs since this a family killing each other. after 1997 the isaaq were united like they have never been in their history with power being shared equally between each subclan and the somaliland ideology being the unifying cause of the clan. power is brokered by ahmed silanyo and mohammad (habar jeclo subclan) musa bihi(habar awal subclan) and the other two subclans the habar yonis and edagale have their interests looked after by faysal ali waraabe (edagale subclan) abdirahman irro(habar yonis subclan). the president of somaliland is the king position and whoever wins a democratic election from all isaaq civilians then this person becomes the chief/king of all isaaq subclans or in other words "the president of somaliland".

abdirahman ciro - leader of somaliland opposition party the wadani party - irro has the support of the habar yonis subclan and his political party the wadani party is here to represent habar yonis interests and to make sure the place doesnt become a habar jeclo dominion - main political ally is the Edagale subclan through a uterine alliance knows as the garhajis and this is the powerfullest isaaq subclans.
