Even though the ETOC is historically amhara dominated, the current head and patriarch of is Abune Mathias, a Tigrayan. Despite the war that ravaged his people, and the "unrecognized" split of Tigrayan TOC, he decided to remain in the ETOC. And it's him that this Abune Sawiros tried to overthrow, so I wouldn't say that it's entirely Amhara led. It seems like he called for the government to intervene and adress these issues now. So it will be interesting to see.

Also whenever a new church diocese is being established it has to be admitted mainly by the patriarch in Alexandria Egypt and/or Constantinopel, which hasn't happened. So they are currently unrecognized, and therefore will have limited power and influence- despite having a sizeable followers - in term of the Ethiopian establishment. And the general rule is that each nation is only meant to have one church diocese. So the Oromia one will most likely face the same treatment as the Tigrayan.

The Orthodox church has been having quite a few issues for the past years. Including the establishment of a new diocese in Ukraine, separate from the Russian based one. It was granted by the Patriarchate of Costantinopel. But Russia (that controlled it), and some others like Serbia and Romania has not met them with the same open arms, and don't have any relations today. So there seem to be many thing they have to deal with, if they want to survive as a united Eastern Orthodox Church.
Orthodoxy will die a dogs death in Ethiopia. Islam & Protestantism is Ethiopia's future.

Why is Somalia with the church of Aksum?
In Christianity, each region has a church oversees or administrate the believers stuff. It is a diocese. And the eastern orthodox church assigned the xabashi church to rthiopia and to the horn of africa. Actually other faiths of christianity did the same when they were dividing the world to region to assign a church to look after the believer. For example the catholic church assigned a diocese for Somalia and that is the Diocese of Mogdishu. And the Eastern Church has the xabashi church as diocese in Horn of africa. and in anglican church, somalia is part of anglican diocese of Alexandria in Egypt. Etc.

The church is a tool used by the Amharos to use as a base and to declare Fatwas against Muslim regions. it was the churches in Europe that declared the crusades into Jerusalem. These same Abyssinian ruled churches in Ethiopia are the ones giving their ENDF dogs the holy justifications to continue occupation of Somali Galbeed and to massacre our people. If the church is divided amongst ethnic lines it will be much easier to contain these cross worshipping terrorists.

Oh well, it doesn’t really matter because we have the highest percentage of Muslims worldwide.

Basically, it’s a good tool to exploit should we get our hands on it.

A divided Ethiopian orthodoxy is not bad, as their power in the Ethiopian establishment will diminish. Without disregarding the role, its authority has played in oppressing us and other Ethiopians, in particular muslims; they are far less of a "threat" to muslims than protestants. As of now and in the future. And by far, in comparison to protestantism.

Protestantism is currently spreading like wildfire in ETH. It was established mainly in 20th century and already estimated at 20% (16,5M) in 2005, from 10% in 1994! From the gov't own stats, who themselves are orthodox "dominated" and don't benefit from this trend. Ethiopian (orthodox) has historically fought against muslims in religious wars, only to convert themselves so quickly from a religion/sect, they've adhered to for thousands of years?!?!

It's mostly done by western missionaries (in the beginning), with focus on charity related works, where they take advantage of vulnerable people, for the sole purpose of converting them. So much so that, even Haile Selassie put restrictions on them under his time, and prosecuted them to prevent conversions at a rapid speed.

Orthodoxy has historically has tried to reach Ethiopian muslims through its power of gov'ts/monarchies, but their followers has largely kept their faith to themselves, even in Galbeed today. While protestants believe in missionary activities to spread their message and faith. Just listen to Abiy's speeches. They attract secular/non-religious people, even non-practising muslims and those from mixed faith background. They establish themselves very quickly and therefore is it better for us with orthodoxy than protestantism.

So I see no good in ETOC in breaking up, despite everything they've done tbh, if we look ahead in the future. I could be wrong though.

The Orthodoxy v Protestantism conflict will divide Ethiopia, which is good.

I mean, can religion really divide a country? Modern times? I doubt it’ll do much other than a tickle. Regardless, any divide amongst them is good.
