Basically the Title.

Somalia basically is at a stalemate when looking at clan composition/militas. SNM in the North-West, SSDF in North east and USC in Central south with AS in deep south.

Why can't a FLN or New Order type of Military Triumvirate/Junta be created? Nothing would functionally change in that each clan or faction would retain control of their regions but they'd be able to coordinate on a 10x larger scale in terms of security/economic interests. Biggest thing is being able to target others without seeming clan biased.

You can still hold semi legit elections and have a Junta, anything that delivers a orderly state will win in a 1m1v in Somalia. See 80s Indonesia as an example.

dervishes and the kacaan lasted longer than the civilian government. somalis will not say it but they are usually more peaceful under brute force.

No, this will not work. The only solution is a one party made up of intellectuals who know the interest of the people, not the interest of their tribe, but party members must choose a new president every 7 years.

A junta is a country led politically by a council of military officers with powers not concentrated in any one one individual. By this definition, I don't regard the kacaan much less the dervish movement as 'military juntas'.

The Kacaan would have been a success if all power weren't concentrated in Barre's hands but instead the Kacaan party practiced collective leadership. He had the right idea in creating a one party state. Renouncing the seat and making term limits mandatory for his successors should have been the first step after his 1st decade in power.

Yeah, and stopping the socialism/commie rhetoric and being pro free markets would have been ideal. A more competent Kacaan is the ideal for Somalia imo
