Somalia gives up its fishing rights to China

At a time when local fishermen in Somalia are struggling to compete with foreign vessels that are depleting fishing stocks, the government has granted 31 fishing licenses to China.

Since assuming power last year, this is the first time that Somali president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has given fishing rights to foreigners, news site BBC reports.

Under the new development, the China Overseas Fisheries Association, which represents 150 companies, will be allowed to fish for tuna in Somali waters.

This topic gets made multiple times I’ve seen at least 5-6 different versions but I’m not complaining. The story is so fucked up and so unbelievable that it just puts you in state of shock and you just have to post about it to get some kind of perspective from someone else once you realize it actually is true.

Fam you hit the nail on its head. Somalia (south) is no longer a country. It is a vassal state with a corrupt rentier mafioso in charge, who are conspiring with foreign powers in Mogadishu to enrich themselves, at the cost of Somali people everywhere.

Farmaajo, Hassan Kheyre, Shariif Sakiin etc. Their plan is to strip South Somalia bare of its resources. Milk it for $$$$$$ as long as they can and take their money to Nairobi, Dubai, USA, UK etc.
